Breaking Waves, Leaving Legacies
NCC (Sea), being one of the youngest CCA in Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary) is dedicated to developing resourceful, responsible, resilient, loyal leaders and team players through fun and challenging military-related and water-based activities. Our main aim would be to cultivate a sense of love and passion for the water and with its’ dedicated team of teachers and cadets, this aim has seen to be successful. Students are given the opportunity to partake in numerous water activities such as Kayaking, Dragon Boating and even diving.
2013 has been a fruitful year which sees our cadets garnering a total of 4 Gold and 3 Silver medals from the Annual Sea Competition organised by HQ NCC. Cadets are also exposed to the Annual Shooting Competition and Individual Marksmanship Training (IMT) which is a good hands-on experience especially for the Sec 1s. This year, we are delighted to have completed the 24km Kayaking Expedition along the Sembawang Shipyard to Pasir Ris Park and back within 1 day. We have also brought in new initiatives this year to maintain student’s passion for the CCA. The new initiatives include Introductory to Basic Scuba Dive and Shotgun Clay Target Shooting.
Lead by student leaders, MSGT Muhammad Aidil and MSGT Nur Farhana, the unit has raised many leaders though Specialist Course and Senior Specialist Course, making us proud!
