Fairfield’s ‘B’ and 'C' Division Badminton Girls’ Teams Clinch Second Place

by Zachary Koh (Sec 3B)

On 1 March 2018, Fairfield’s ‘B’ and ‘C’ Division Badminton Girls’ teams played against Raffles Girls’ Secondary School in the finals of the Inter-School South Zone Badminton Championships. Although the Fairfield Badminton girls knew that they were competing against one of the strongest badminton teams in Singapore, they were not intimidated.

Our school leaders as well as many Fairsians made their way to Yio Chu Kang Sports Hall to support the Fairfield Badminton Girls’ teams. The unity among the Fairsians was palpable and the energy in the air was felt. On the court, the girls fought hard and displayed great resilience.

At the end of the competition, Fairfield’s ‘B’ and ‘C’ Division Badminton Girls’ teams received their medals with pride and satisfaction. This achievement was made possible by the grace of God as well as the teachers and coach for pushing each and every player to maximise their full potential.

Congratulations to Fairfield’s ‘B’ and 'C' Division Badminton Girls’ teams for retaining their second position in the Inter-School South Zone Badminton Championships for the second year! We look forward to further success at the National Badminton Championships in Term 2!
