Fairfield’s 2016 GCE O- and N-Level Results

by Sarah Simon (Sec 4F)

On 11 January 2017, the Secondary 4 Express and 5 Normal (Academic) students of the 2016 cohort returned to FMS(S) to collect their GCE O-Level results.

Our Principal, Ms Audrey Chen started off by reminding students that their results do not define who they are. Instead she encouraged them to view their O-Level results as a milestone in their lifelong pursuit of academic learning.

Shortly after, Ms Chen gave an overview of the 2016 GCE O-Level examination results. She was proud of the academic achievements of the 2016 cohort, as one-third of the cohort managed to achieve at least 5 distinctions. The hall was filled with invigorating chatters when the names of students who did remarkably well were announced. This included students who scored at least 6A1s, students who achieved an L1R5 score of 10 points or below which enabled them to qualify for their desired course at Anglo Chinese Junior College, and all-rounded students who performed well in both their CCAs and GCE O-Level examinations. The fantastic results were made possible as a result of the love and effort put in by all the Fairfield teachers who have taught them over the 4 or 5 years they studied in Fairfield.

The Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) and Normal (Technical) students also achieved decent GCE N(A)- and N(T)-Level results at the 2016 GCE N-Level examinations, with 100% of the N(T) students qualifying for a place at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE). A good percentage of the N(A) students also did well enough to be eligible for promotion to Secondary 5 this year.

We give thanks to God for his love and guidance and show our deepest appreciation to our dearest teachers for always helping their students to produce such good results!

Well done, batch of 2016!
